Host a Drive

Promise House serves over 3,000 homeless, runaway and at-risk youth each year! These youth usually arrive with nothing but the shirts on their backs. Hosting a donation drive helps the youth of Promise House get the items they need to survive every day. Set up a drive at your workplace, church or social group  to bring an item from our Wish List. Promise House only accepts new and unused items.

Before you start a donation drive, or for more information, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator.

Determine the items you want to collect from our Wish List. Designate a central location for people to drop off their items and make a container specifically labeled for the drive. You can also collect items during a holiday party, birthday party or office gathering. Monetary donations and gift cards are always welcome and in many cases, they are the best option for youth to get exactly what they need in the right size.

Spread the Word

The easiest way to get people to help is to simply ask. Use any method you would normally use to share information, like emails, Facebook, Twitter and word of mouth. Let your audience know about Promise House and our mission, the youth we help and the items needed.


When your drive is completed, contact our Volunteer Coordinator in order to coordinate a drop-off time. The best times to schedule a drop-off  are Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. Promise House is located at 224 W. Page Ave., Dallas, TX 75208.


Don’t forget to thank your donors. Post pictures of your donations to Facebook and tag us or share in your group’s newsletter!
