Our goal is to meet youth where they are. Often educators are the first to notice changes in a youth’s appearance or behavior that might suggest they are facing housing instability. In conjunction with Dallas ISD and other service providers, Promise House helps operate drop-in centers at six district high schools to give youth facing homelessness easy access to the information and resources they need. By working closely with educators, we can identify youth at risk of becoming homeless early and work to stabilize them.
The drop-in centers provide:
- Food, including nonperishable items youth can take
- Hygiene products
- Case management services
- Referrals to residential services when appropriate
