The Problem
Each year, approximately 114,000 young people experience housing instability in Texas. Because unsheltered youth are still developing physically, emotionally, psychologically, and socially, the challenges that they face are unique. Many children and teens that become homeless adults have little to no work experience or life skills and were often forced to quit their education early. Once homeless, they become disconnected from educational systems and the workforce, locking them into a repetitive cycle that is difficult to overcome.
The Promise
The Promise Makers’ Society is a group of leaders who understand the impact of investing in the youth who come through our programs. The support of The Promise Makers’ Society creates ripples of positive change in the lives of youth and their families throughout North Texas that can be seen for generations to come.
We believe that The Promise Makers’ Society can lead the world into a place where youth homelessness is rare, brief, and a one-time occurrence.
